The Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography (SSAG) proudly announces two scholarships for fieldwork in 2027, the
special Andrée Fund scholarship,
as well as the
annual SSAG field work scholarship.
The special Andrée Fund fund scholarship is targeted towards researcher in SSAG related areas that have finished their PhD and are associated to a Swedish University.
The stipends are for field work in physical geography everywhere on the globe or field work in human geography, anthropology (but for those the work must be carried out polar environments). The field work should take place in 2027. For this call, funds will be awarded to researchers holding a PhD degree affiliated to a Swedish university. The maximum contribution is 250000 SEK. Find all conditions on the application form.
The deadline for the application is the November 10th, 2026.
Please note that to apply for a stipend from this call, the applicant must be a member in good standing in the SSAG. In particular the membership fee has to be paid by the time of application.

The Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography (SSAG) hereby announces field work scholarships for 2027. The scholarships are for field work to be conducted 2027. The SSAG supports research in the fields of Anthropology and Geography. Funds are awarded only to students or other individuals at Swedish departments where such research is carried out.
Applications are to be filled out on the forms provided. The application forms, together with their supporting documents (appendices) should arrive at the SSAG secretary no later than January 15, 2027. The application forms can be downloaded from this website (click on links above).
Please note that the SSAG membership fee must be paid for the application to be processed. Incomplete applications will not be processed.
