kritisk etnografi – Swedish Journal of Anthropology

The Swedish Society for Anthropology and Geography launches a new online, open access anthropological journal in 2018. In the first issue, we gather original papers by leading anthropologists together with reports from the Swedish anthropological community. The journal aims to foster engaged and responsible scholarship by combining global scope, local relevance and public engagement.

The name kritisk etnografi signals three things. First, the focus is on ethnography and the ways in which ethnography is conducted, invented and transformed. Second, the name aims to promote critical reflections on the craft and practice of ethnography itself. Third, the Swedish name signals that the journal is founded on Swedish-based academic anthropology and its many outlooks to the world.

kritisk etnografi – Swedish Journal of Anthropology publishes two issues per year, combining original research papers with reports and news from the Swedish anthropological community. The journal is published in English.

SSAG members get all issues of the journal by e-mail.
