The 2026 Vega Day Programme

The 2026 Vega Symposium on May 11 honors Professor Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research and Professor in Earth System Science at the University of Potsdam. who has been awarded Vega Medal 2026 for his scientific contributions to Physical geography. Johan Rockström is an internationally recognized scientist on global sustainability and Earth resilience. He led the development of the Planetary Boundaries framework for human development in the current era of rapid global change. He is deeply involved in research on the future trajectory of the Anthropocene and tipping points in the Earth system.

Poster Session
During the event SSAG arranges a poster session for which the first price are 5000 SEK. SSAG sponsors 10 participants of the poster sessions (only Bachelor / Master/ PhD students) by funding the trip to Stockholm (travel and hotel max 2000 SEK). Poster printing costs up to 500 SEK can be applied for as well. To participate in the poster session please fill in the form until the 10 . of April.  All applicants will be informed latest the 15. April about the status of their applications.
