Geographers awarded

Today at the Royal Palace of Stockholm a ceremony was held where two geographers were awarded medals for major contributions to climate change and human land-use. Professor Compton James Tucker was awarded the Vega Medal in Gold for his contributions to the science of remote sensing. Professor Gudrun Gisladottir was awarded the Wahlberg Medal in Gold for her contributions to land degradation and desertification.

On Tuesday 15 April, 13.00-16.30 the Vega-symposium will focus on Professor Tucker’s work under the title ”Satellite Data and Climate: Observations not Beliefs”, Nordenskiöldssalen, Geovetenskapens hus, Stockholms universitet. Most Welcome!
